Chapter Objective is to Increase Certifications of Members

National Contract Management Association

The Bluegrass Chapter encourages all members to seek and obtain NCMA certifications.  As NCMA certification demonstrates professional achievement and is recognized industry-wide throughout the Government and private-sector, many organizations sponsor their employees by paying for their costs associated with obtaining certification.  The Bluegrass Chapter recognizes that not all members are afforded this opportunity to be sponsored by their employers.  In an effort to assist those members in obtaining NCMA certification, the Bluegrass Chapter is instituting a grant program for members to request reimbursement for certification application and examination fees.  The maximum number of grants issued will be four (4) per program year.

Application Process for Grants

To be eligible, applicants must be members of NCMA and reside within the Bluegrass Chapter geographic region.

Applicants must submit:

  • a copy of their certification application (may redact credit card or other sensitive information)
  • receipt from NCMA
  • signed statement that they will commit to participating in at least two (2) meetings per program year for the next two (2) years and volunteer to chair a committee in the second full program year.

Applications will be submitted to and reviewed by the Bluegrass Chapter’s Education/Certification/Scholarship Chair.  Approval/Disapproval of the application will be made by the Bluegrass Chapter Leadership.  The applicant will be notified of the Chapter’s decision within 30 days of application submission.  If approved, the Chapter Treasurer will issue a check to the applicant within 14 days of the Chapter’s decision.  If the applicant fails the initial exam, they will not be eligible for reimbursement of subsequent exams
